Esta colección de poemas es variada pero, lamentablemente, no es mi estilo. Si bien hay contiene algunos poemas hermosos, la mayoría no me generó ninguna sensación o pensamiento e incluso muchos resultaban desagradables de leer (en especial por los personajes y/o situaciones demasiado sexualizadas en un tipo de texto que no los ameritaba). Otra cosa que no me gustó fue que hay dos "figuritas repetidas". A lo que me refiero con esto es que dos secciones de dos poemas aparecen varias páginas más adelante como si se tratara de otros poemas cortos cuando ya habían aparecido como parte de otros. Si es todo esto es algo que no te molesta e incluso te gusta leer, te invito a que lo leas. Although there are some beautiful poems, most of them left me no lingering feeling or thought and some were not pleasing to read (especially those that were overly sexualized in a text where it was uncalled for.) Another thing that I didn't like was the fact that there were two "repeats", meaning sections of two whole poems were listed as a different one several pages later. Everything Belongs to the Future - Laurie Penny

Este libro trata sobre un futuro distópico en el que se ha descubierto una "fuente de la juventud" en forma de píldora que permite a las personas vivir cientos de años más. Sin embargo, y por supuesto, es cara y sólo pueden acceder a ella las personas de los más altos rangos y más adinerados. En la otra cara de la moneda tenemos a algunos rebeldes y también a un pequeño grupo de idealistas que buscan generar una revolución al lograr que esta píldora esté disponible para todo el mundo. El concepto sonaba genial, pero no me gustó la forma en que se lo desarrolló. Teniendo en cuenta que se trata de un libro de unas 100 páginas, todo lo que sucedía se sentía como apresurado y poco claro en algunos momentos. Creo que, de haber sido un poco más largo, se podrían haber desarrollado mejor tanto los personajes como el mundo en sí, y se habría llegado a un texto mucho más interesante y completo. Sí sentí muy bien realizada la visión de nuestra sociedad arruinando un descubrimiento científico tan importante y distorsionándolo para convertirlo en un negocio. It enables people to live hundreds of years longer  but it of course expensive and thus only attainable by rich people. On the other side of the coin there are rebels but there also is a small group of idealists hoping to spark a revolution and make the Fix available to everyone. The premise of this book sounded great but I didn't enjoy how it was developed. Being only about 100 pages everything felt somewhat rushed and I believe I could have been more enjoyable had the world and characters been more developed in a longer read. What I did find was well depicted was the fact that should there be a scientific breakthrough as such, we, as a society, would most certainly distort its purpose and turn it into a business. Si te gustan las historias apocalípticas raras este libro es para vos. Lo que sí me gustó fue la variedad de temas y estilos, al igual que las distintas épocas de los escritos que van desde 1872 hasta el 2013. La colección incluye autores poco conocidos y nombres más conocidos también (como Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Philip K. Dick, Kurt Vonnegut y Ursula K. Le Guin). Ahora pasemos a lo que no me gustó. Solicité este libro para reseñar porque en el título estaba el término "distópico". What I did like was the variety of plots and styles, as well as the selection of stories from different times spanning from 1872 to 2013. We are presented with both lesser known authors and bigger names- such as Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Philip K. Dick, Kurt Vonnegut and Ursula K. Le Guin. Now on to what I didn't like. I requested this book because I saw "dystopian" in the subtitle but, unfortunately, only four fulfilled my expectations. I felt that several stories didn't quite fit the theme of the collection, at least not to me.  My favorites were: - 2BR02B. In a utopically dystopian world, thanks to population control there are exactly forty million inhabitants in the United States. The protagonist has to decide which of the triplets his wife is a bout to give birth to they will keep. On the same vein, in order to maintain that figure, for a baby to be born, someone has to die and people volunteer for dying. There even is a number people can call to terminate their lives: 2BR02B. I loved the play on words and I think this story may have inspired some aspects of The Giver and Divergent. - The Pedestrian. The year is 2053 a. d. and the only man left in the world is taking one of his daily walks, but that day is nothing like the others because a car appears before him. Is he the last man on Earth? - The End of The World. This one reads like an interesting, educational, thought-provoking and shockingly accurate essay on the effects of global warming, in spite of it having been written in the 1800s. As usual, here's my detailed rating story by story. - Tight Little Stitches in A Dead Man's Back. This strange tale is that of a man and his. They've lost their daughter to a bombing and his wife blames him for her death because he was a scientist. She doesn't speak to him and their only interaction is when she gets her needles to continue working on a stitched tattoo in honor of Rae. Veggie Mama - Review

Podría describir el enfoque de este libro como "comidas a base de plantas para una familia saludable". Pero encontrarán mucho más que recetas. Las escritoras incluyeron principios a seguir, listas de compras, preparación anticipada, datos y trucos. También hablan de la medicina vegetal, lineamientos nutricionales y consejos. Además incluyeron una imagen que ilustra las proporciones de componentes que toda comida debe contener. Esta es una especie de guía muy completa a la que no le falta nada. El problema que tuve con este libro es que muchos de los ingredientes y utensilios que usan en la mayoría de las recetas son muy difíciles de encontrar o muy caros acá en Argentina.  Por otro lado, lamentablemente muchas de las recetas son agridulces y esa clase de comida no es precisamente mi preferida. Algunas de las recetas que sí me gustaron fueron: - Las hamburguesas de hongos de Michael; - Tacos sabrosos; - Salsas; - Limonada rosa; - Limonada de sandía; - Y casi todos los portes y cosas dulces. But there are more than recipes here. The writers provide guiding principles, shopping lists, meal prep, tips and tricks as well as food as medicine, nutritional guidelines and advices. There even is a sample image that illustrates the proportions of components a meal should include. It is clearly a comprehensive guide that leaves nothing out. The problem I had with this book is that there are many ingredients and some kitchen tools used in most of the recipes that tricky to find or even not available here in Argentina (not no mention expensive). Also, unfortunately, a lot of the recipes were sweet and sour, which is not exactly my cup of tea. Some of my favorites were: - Michael's mushroom burgers; - Savory tacos; - Sauces; - Pink lemonade; - Watermelon lemonade; - And most sweet treats and desserts.
